P J Harvey at the Royal Albert Hall

My long time friend Sarah treated me to this gig. And what a treat it was.

I got vertigo up in the circle, and had to be reseated in the same private box as Lily Cole down in the Grand Tier. Next to the Queen's box apparently. That was a shame ... not

Gold pot heads in the garden

Photos of pot heads in the garden

Matt Groening

has just complimented mine and Matt's music for Clive Bell's lovely animated short 'Girls and Boys'. Matt and I did this earlier in the year in a real rush job. Clive put it in for the 'Film of the Month' competition on the site Shooting People which was judged by the creator of the Simpsons.

Matt Groening said "The memorable music by Jude Cowan Montague and Matt Armstrong support the weird goings-on, and make the cartoon great for multiple viewings. Well
done!"

I feel kind of smug and gratified.

Wuthering Heights book cover, second colour choice

Blanaid said the last colour choice looked too 'zombie' or 'underwater' so I tried this.

Wuthering Heights book cover

Ta dah!

Here's my first mock up book cover! I'm quite pleased with it. These colours look loads more 'Wuthering Heights' to me ...

And then I plugged in Blanaid's new Wacom tablet and started drawing on my sketch in colour.

Wuthering Heights

So, I've been experimenting with book covers. I had a go for Wuthering Heights. This was supposed to be Cathy at the window.

Foulkestone

Foulkestone are go again! We have a rehearsal on Sunday evening and a clearspot from Resonance sorted for November - just need a date. Hurrah!

Canvases

Trying to do my final large canvas in pastel, charcoal and ink. Hope the result is good. I think it will do. The problem is with pastel on canvas is that it is hard to avoid the lines of the stretcher behind. Otherwise pastel is nice on the texture of primed material.

Solly book

Thinking about the Solly book today. Might be time to revisit it this autumn. I did these sketches of horses for it.

Fifteen play

It's over! I can't believe it, already ... another packed out show on Saturday night, went really well again. Have learned so much. The theatre festival was a great success, hurrah for The Space.
