Lamb & Tyger review - extract

Less joyfully bawdy, more music hall meets ghostly choir, the arrangements are subtle and ludic, never overshadowing the original work Cowan so clearly enjoys. Out of time and place, Lamb & Tyger’s bitesize ditties (the longest is under four minutes) are like scattered pearls. Strange and soothing, and a great way to get into Blake’s work.

The CD will be available on CD Baby from July 2011. Working on the Commune album just now!

Ah! Sunflower records

Here's the logo for my record label, Ah! Sunflower. I drew it at work on a post it note and edited it for use on the back cover.

Lamb & Tyger front cover

This is the picture I used on my Lamb & Tyger CD.

Lamb & Tyger CD

Oh dear, producing more of these. How horrid to spend the day doing this kind of thing. And I'm also having to reaudition for my choir, we all are, so I'm having to listen time and time again to the Bach B Minor Mass Gloria.

And I'm trying to do my college task for presevation for the archive qualification I'm doing distance learning at Dundee University.

All in all not the greatest day, but I do feel surprisingly cheery none the less.

Printing CD covers for Lamb & Tyger

Cor, this is time consuming - considering paying someone again to do a job lot! Never mind, will see how it goes, early days ...

Press release

Hurrah! That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've just written a press release for 'Lamb & Tyger'. It doesn't look too embarrassing so I'm hoping that will do. Just got to burn a few CDs for the press now, and think of some people/shows to send them to. Then sit back and wait for all the plays. Oh and I just remembered, I have to register my tracks with PRS too. Oh, okay, still got admin stuff to do ...

Lamb & Tyger solo album launch

The preview launch of the solo CD Lamb & Tyger is on Saturday 19th February at the Twelve Bar in Denmark Street as part of the Winter Antifolk Festival. All welcome!

Lamb & Tyger CD

Lovely! I've finished my 'Lamb & Tyger' CD ... hurrah, hurrah! Done the CD label and the CD cover. Looks great IMHO. Now I have to write a little press release and burn a few copies for some radio stations. Then I can make a limited edition for sale.

The Crown pub sign

Maybe this is a pub sign that could inspire the pub sign record cover for Lamb & Tyger. I like the spooky village pub situation of the sign rather than the painted sign itself, although it is a good job and an interesting picture with some thought behind it.

Lamb and Tyger photo 2

Managed to take a picture before Blanaid went to meet her friends and before the rain came down. Colours were lovely. Yellow flowers on green grass, orange pinafore dress over turquoise shirt. Now Matt is going to do a painting in gouache from the most interesting pictures. He's chosen one in which the hands make an interesting shape. We'll see how it goes, but I'm pretty excited to see what it might look like. I think it will be good.
